Good luck to Coeburn and Gate City ..............

I just want to wish Coeburn and Gate City best of luck as they move on to different districts next year. Coeburn should come in and make a huge impact on the Cumberland District. With the addition of Coeburn to the Cumberland, there should be should really good new rivalries built here. Games like: Coeburn vs. St. Paul, Coeburn vs. Twin Springs to go with rivalry games already established in the Cumberland such as St. Paul vs. Castlewood, Castlewood vs. Twin Springs and Rye Cove vs. Twin Springs.
I would also like to extend best wishes to the Gate City programs as they move on to the new Clinch Mountain District joining the programs of Virginia High, Lebanon, John Battle, and Lee County.
Since all of these programs will most likely be Group A, Division 2 programs, it is easily recognized that this district will be one to be reckoned with in a number of sports.
As far as the Division 2 playoffs go for football, this is my prediction for Group A, Division 2 for next year:

Powell Valley
Gate City
Virginia High
Lebanon

As for basketball, my prediction would be this:

Lonesome Pine
Powell Valley & J.I. Burton

Black Diamond
Haysi and Twin Valley

Clinch Mountain
Virginia High and Gate City

Cumberland
Coeburn and Castlewood

As far as other sports, I believe they are all up in the air. If anyone else has predictions for the next year, lets hear all that you have to say and the reasons why you believe the way you do.

But once again, good luck to Coeburn and Gate City. The LPD's standard for excellence was definitely raised with you as members. We have a huge standard to live up to for future years. All of us at the 'Valley and Norton as well as other schools thank you for all you've done to help bring the LPD back to annual state prominence.

Actually ndn12 is one person and ocean360 is another in the same class. Atleast i think they are in the same class, but they are, in fact, two different users.
